An old tradition born again.
Welcome to the Red and Gray!
The publication of a Red and Gray news magazine was a long-standing tradition at Fitchburg High for many years. There is a great collection of many of the old volumes in the library, some dating back to the 1920s. These hidden treasures of student writing serve as incredible time capsules that reveal so much about our beloved school and its students throughout history. Unfortunately, the Red and Gray in all its glory has become a lost tradition in recent years. With this site, along with several physical copies as well, we hope to bring a strong student journalism program back to the high school.
This new online news site is run by a group of student journalists who have a passion for reporting the things happening in our school and in the world around us. This page will feature stories from both within the halls of FHS and outside of our school community that still affect us as students and citizens. This will also be a place to highlight all forms of the fantastic student writing and art being done at FHS.
If that sounds like something that interests you, join our team! The Red and Gray is looking for more writers, journalists, and artists who would like to contribute to this site. We meet on Wednesdays after school in the library and anyone is welcome to start attending at any time. We also know that committing to another club is difficult for some people, but we still want to hear your story! There is a link to a submission form on our site so anyone can submit any kind of media to be featured. Our goal is to feature as many student voices as possible, so we strongly encourage everyone to submit their writing, art, or photography.
We hope you enjoy our coverage and engage with our site by submitting your work!
